ARE LIFEGEM DIAMONDS REAL DIAMONDS?
YES! LifeGem diamonds are real diamonds. The difference from a natural diamond is that a LifeGem diamond is created from a very specific carbon source in our exclusive lab environment.
LifeGem diamonds have the same brilliance, fire, luster, and hardness as a diamond from the earth.
COLORS – WHY ARE LIFEGEM DIAMONDS FANCY COLORS?
“Fancy” is the industry term given to diamonds that have an intense, vibrant, and desirable color. LifeGem diamonds are now available in five different colors including colorless.
Yellow LifeGem diamonds get their intense yellow color from the element nitrogen. Nitrogen is supplied by the air that we breathe (79% nitrogen). When we allow this air into the diamond creation system we achieve the fancy or canary yellow color. Nitrogen is a powerful catalyst and stabilizer for creating diamonds.
Blue LifeGem diamonds are created by limiting the amount of nitrogen from the outside air into the creation process. This very low nitrogen, in combination with the added element boron, creates the blue LifeGem diamond. This process is much more difficult due to the lack of nitrogen.
Colorless LifeGem diamonds are also created by limiting the amount of nitrogen. Though, unlike blue LifeGem diamonds, no boron is added to the process.
Red and Green LifeGem diamonds are first created as a yellow LifeGem diamond. After they are faceted, polished, and laser engraved, they are subjected to an electron beam. This is known as electron bombardment. This process realigns the nitrogen atoms, which changes the diamond from yellow to red or green. The process is perfectly safe and will not harm the diamond or detract from its optical characteristics.
CUTS – WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE LIFEGEM DIAMOND CUTS?
Because our process replicates the forces of earth, the diamond is a rough crystal until cut, faceted, and polished by our highly trained diamond cutters.
The best and most commonly selected cut for the LifeGem is round, although princess, radiant, and heart shaped cuts are available. The rough LifeGem diamond always lends itself to a “best cur’ which could possibly yield a higher clarity, bigger, or all around better LifeGem diamond. If the ‘best cur for their diamond is different from their original choice, we will contact them to see if they are interested in the change.
CLARITY – WHAT QUALITY ARE LIFEGEM DIAMONDS?
We will not deliver a LifeGem diamond that is not considered spectacular and beautiful, but it is important to know that LifeGem diamonds do have inclusions just like diamonds from the earth.
CARATS -WHAT ARE THE I IFFSIFM DIAMOND CARAT WFIGHTS?
From the requested 8 ounces of cremated remains or lock of hair, we can easily create multiple 1.0ct. LifeGem diamonds. The family selects the quantity and size from option ranges when they place their order. If the LifeGem turns out larger than they requested, there is, of course, no additional charge. If the LifeGem tums out smaller than requested, their price will be reduced accordingly.
How to Order LifeGem diamonds in 4 simple steps
1- First, assist the family in completing the LifeGem. order form in the brochure
Customer Information; Add the family’s contact information and the full name of the decedent / hair donor.
LifeGem Specifics Enter the size (carat weight), cut, color and 011 in the price for each LifeGem ordered.
Payment Information: Total all of the individual LifeGem diamonds ordered and mark if paying the 50% deposit by check or credit card (add credit card information).
Obtain famliy’s authorization: Have a family member sign and date the order form.
Business Partner Information: Add your Business Partner ID (primary phone number of your business).
2- Second, separate the cremated remains or collect the lock of hair
If creating LifeGem diamonds from cremated remains, place NO MORE THAN 8 ounces (- 1 cup) of the processed cremated remains from a STANDARD CREMATION in a sealed heavy plastic bag, temporary um, or our free shipping kit. (Call 866-543-3436 to request one… It’s free!)
If creating LifeGem diamonds from a lock of hair, we need only the amount of hair collected during a routine haircut, or approximately the amount that you can hold in the palm of your hand. Although if necessary, we can work with less.
3- Third, accept the customer deposit (50%)
the customer make their deposit check payable to LifeGem or write their credit card information on the order form. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express. Remember, there Is NO SALES TAX unless you are ordering in the state of Illinois.
4- Finally, send the order to LifeGem®
Mail the cremated remains or lock of hair, the original signed order form, and if paying by check, the 50% deposit to:
